Something new: Polymer Clay Embroidery
So I went crazy and decided to torture my poor fingers: I embroidered polymer clay.
I used to do cross-stitch projects as a child, but I quickly outgrew the craft. Having to count all those squares were too much for me.
My interest in needlepoint was rekindled last year when I saw fiber artist Apol Lejano-Massebieau's whimsical, almost free-form embroidery on paper and plushies. I was inspired to revisit my cross-stitching days, so I bought colorful DMC thread and needles. Not wanting to simply copy her work, I decided to put my own twist on it. I thought, why not embroider on polymer clay?
I started needlepoint on clay September last year, starting with simple back-stitching on the edges of these flat clouds, to give them a pretty "silver lining". I can't find the finished product photos, tsk. Will update this post when I unearth them.

Just yesterday I saw a video on someone using wire and stitching metal. I was thinking that it would be cool to use wire to stitch together polymer clay. But I never thought of embroidering it.
How clever! I really like the look of it. So much could be done with that idea!
