A sad day for interior design

One of my favorite magazines is saying goodbye. Sob.

From their website:
It is with very heavy hearts that we say farewell. Over the last 4 years, in 28 issues, we have done our best to create a great magazine. We started with a real idea—that style is for everyone—and tried to carry it out with stories that provide inspiration and empower you to act on it. From your tremendous response, we know that we were onto something. In this tough economy, however, we simply weren't able to get the advertising support we needed.

That's the sad thing about publishing - no matter how large the reader base, if there are no advertisers, the publication is not going to be able to stay afloat. In this case, Domino had a huge following! But what with the downfall of the real estate industry, what company's gonna want to place ads in a home magazine?

So the next time you pick up a magazine and complain about how many ads there are, think again.
